Haven of Peace Academy is non government school which has clear beliefs in provides children with spiritual, intellectual and physical development based on a foundation of Christian principles. Our school recognizes the importances of interweaving spiritual teachings into daily life.And is through quality education that Tanzania will be able to create a strong and competitive economy which can effectively cope with the challenges of development and which can confidently adapt to the changing market and technological conditions in the region.

Educating students, contributing to community, raising up leaders.

Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) serves both its student body and its surrounding community. Through facilities, programmes and educational services, HOPAC contributes to capacity development within Tanzania. The following list outlines a number of ways in which HOPAC is helping Tanzania to achieve economic growth and social development:

  • Improving education in Tanzania: Approximately 40% of the students at HOPAC are Tanzanian. By playing a role in increasing educational opportunities in Tanzania, HOPAC will have a significant impact on the future growth and development of Tanzania. HOPAC is educating students who will make a difference in their own country.
  • Creating employment opportunities in Tanzania: HOPAC provides employment opportunities for both Tanzanian teachers and support staff.
  • Developing the skills of both Tanzanian students and staff: HOPAC provides skill development opportunities for students, teachers and support staff. For teachers and support staff, regular training services are offered – both on-and off-campus. In 2010, support staff at HOPACs were given the opportunity to attend an advanced ICT training courses. Just this year, secondary teachers were provided with the opportunity to participate in face-to-face Cambridge training in South Africa.

Our students are also encouraged to participate in the development of Tanzania. We provide opportunities for students to apply academic, social, and personal skills to improve the community. Through such service opportunities, students achieve self-development, individual growth, and a lifelong ethic of service.
