Tanzania Adventist Primary School is an English-medium school owned and managed by the Tanzania Union Mission of Seventh-day Adventist. The school started in 1991 and was officially registered in 1996. TAPS is fully accredited and recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tanzania as a primary school with registration number AR 02/4/002. It is also fully accredited as a primary school by the East Central Africa Division Commission on Accreditation.TAPS currently has a total of 260 students registered for the academic year 2012-2013. LOCATION: TAPS is strategically located north of Usa River, 7 kilometers off the Arusha-Moshi Road, and is at the boundary of Arusha National Park. The location of the school makes it perfect for the development of students’ academic, spiritual, mental, and social faculties. TAPS provide housing for students inside campus and a majority of the current students stay in the dormitories. Public transportation is available from Usa River bus depot at a cost of Tshs.500 for dala-dala or Tshs.5,000 for a private taxi service.
The grading system is based on the following:
A = 81 to 100
B = 61 to 80
C = 41 to 60
D = 21 to 40
E = 0 to 20
A student with an average of D is advised to repeat the class. Automatic promotion is strictly discouraged.
Medium of Instruction
TAPS uses English as a medium of instruction as well as for communication between students and teaching/non-teaching staff outside the classroom. This helps facilitate learning activities and fluency in English. All subjects except Kiswahili are taught in English.
